The book examines in detail the emergence, formation and development of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, Russia and Samogitia in the scale of the Eastern European historical context of the 10th-16th centuries. The economic and social development of the Grand Duchy is revealed, starting from the consideration of the prerequisites for the emergence of this state and the processes within the principalities and tribal unions included in it, the evolution of the main political institutions of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, the relationship of foreign and domestic policies with events in neighboring states. Much attention is paid to military history in the book: an array of information is given about armed conflicts in which the soldiers of the Grand Duchy took part.
