The album, the publication of which is timed to the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, contains more than 270 unique photos of the front-line correspondent A. I. Brodsky, the father of the famous poet, Nobel Prize winner Joseph Brodsky. The photos were taken from negatives stored in the funds of the Central Naval Museum named after Emperor Peter the Great in St. Petersburg, where Alexander Ivanovich worked as the head of the darkroom from 1944 to 1948. The geography of the images is wide — the defense of Leningrad, the liberation of Sevastopol and the Crimea, the struggle in the Arctic. Brodsky’s shots show the unadorned everyday life of the war and the faces of its participants, from whose labor and feat the banner of our Victory is woven. Most of the photos are published for the first time.
